At Sasonah, we
are dedicated to helping dementia sufferers through understanding,
wisdom, and support throughout the care giving journey.
Our aim is to create a home away from home,
striving to create dignity and independence as far as possible for all our
residents irrespective of race, colour or creed.
The lodge is owned and run by Colleen Nunn, a
registered nursing sister of 22 years experience.
Colleen is registered with the Nursing
Council, the Alzheimer's Association of
South Africa and the Parkinson Association of South Africa.
**************************************************
Sasonah lodge opened its doors on the 1st May 2004.
The lodge is a care facility accommodating patients with Alzheimer’s disease,
Parkinson’s or any person requiring frail or full time care.
The residents house has been renovated and modified to accommodate 25 residents
in which our residents are encouraged to roam freely and continue with normal
activities as far as possible.
We are staffed by a nursing sister, full time care workers and an on-site chef.
We have a resident doctor calling on our residents, a monthly visit by a
hairdresser and a podiatrist.
Sasonah Lodge is contracted to a medical response company called Excalmed
(see certificate)
giving us 24 hour medical response back up.
Sasonah Lodge is also contracted to a security
response company called Germiston Patrols giving us 24 hour armed
response back up.
The lodge offers full time residence, a day care
facility and holiday or weekend care.
** The Colin Mann school of Lambton in Germiston
has adopted the lodge for their community project.
